Okada Yuji is widely recognized as one of the leading lacquer artists of his generation. This work of brilliant, shimmering iridescence embodies Okada Yuji’s long-standing interest in the beauty of natural shells.
This tsuitate is inlaid with New Zealand abalone shells.

The overall effect is hypnotic – achieved through painstaking traditional craftsmanship to create a work of very contemporary aesthetic.
