Description

Linan Wang (born 1993) obtained her Bachelor's degree in 2016 at the Institute of Fine Arts in Hebei (China) before settling in Japan, in Kanazawa, where she completed her master's degree in 2020, completed by a Doctorate in 2024 rewarded with the President's Prize of the College of Arts.

Linan has in recent years developed experimental work pushing the boundaries of urushi lacquer by reinterpreting the ancient dry lacquer technique, kanshitsu.

Her sculptures are like lunar fragments dotted with craters.
