An arresting black clay sculpture by the young ceramic artist Takahashi Aoi.
This organic form is covered with hundreds of black clay tendrils, each one individually hand-shaped and applied in a flowing pattern.

Takahashi Aoi was born in Miyagi Prefecture in 1999. She graduated from the Craft Department of the University of Tsukuba in 2022, then enrolled in the Tajimi Pottery Design Technical Institute, where she completed her advanced studies in 2025.

Her works have been exhibited in New Wind – Design and Expression at Nagoya Takashimaya in 2023, and at Nihonbashi Takashimaya in Tokyo in 2024. She was also selected as a finalist at the Taiwan Ceramics Biennale at the Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taipei in 2024.
