This work is the most perfect example of the sukashi-ami plaiting technique where Chikuunsai II excelled.
He plaited extremely thin bamboo stalks diagonally and created another pattern by plaiting the rattan.
The visual effect forms a spiral. This japanese bamboo basket is a masterpiece.
