Baika Sōshun (Plum Blossom in Early Spring) by Ichikawa Youna
Ichikawa Youna was born in 1988 in Ibaraki Prefecture in Kanto.
She joined the TANABE studio in 2018 after initial training at the Oita Bamboo Crafts Training Center.
Despite still being a recent practice, his creations already assert a unique style and confirm a very strong mastery of braiding techniques.
“I love solitary loop braiding and feel the cosmic order in this practice. I wanted to express that this world here and now is the Universe,” she explains to justify her artistic approach.
