Shunga Series: "Kaichu kagami"

An unshaved bold-headed man carefully approaches a woman. In front of them on the floor a set of shungabooks !

Date: c.1823

Fine impression, very good colors and condition. 
Some very minor soiling and browning, minor marks and flaws but overall in a near fine state.

Wonderful use of metallic pigments and very detailed carving of individual hair-lines. Nicely executed embossing (gauffrage) and 'bokashi"-shading to the face of the woman.
